Over the weekend I finally went and saw the Lynda Benglis show at MOCA.
Unfortunately, this was the last weekend. I hope you got a chance to see it.
It was one of those rare shows that makes me excited about art!
She is so rad! Such an amazing artist.
I particularly love her sparkle knots (below), and this amazing piece called Phantom (above) made with phosphorescence. It is installed in a dark room under a black light, and then the light turns off after about seven or so minuets and what you see are the sculptures glowing in the dark, and you get to watch their slow and subtle fade until you can hardly make them out. Then the light comes on again.
It is so beautiful and haunting. I loved it and sat in there for a long while.
