ermie /\ collection 1

Where do I even begin? Well, first I guess we should start with the amazing lady behind Ermie! Not only does Jennifer design all the clothing but she also creates all of the patterns for the fabrics from photos she has taken, vintage textiles, and she even collaborated with her husband for a few prints. Jennifer is awesome. Really, I can't tell you how much I love this lady. She is such an inspiration and has such a unique eye and there is such integrity in all that she does, and I really admire that she always stays true to herself and creates what she wants to see in the world. I love looking through her new collection because she has woven together such beautiful colors, patterns and textures, that all come together to tell a story.

I met Jennifer many moons ago, and we would see each other at art openings, and I always loved what she had on. And it wasn't until recently that we reconnected through our blogs. (It's nice to know that this world is bringing people together.) And she asked me to be a part of her newest collection. I was so flattered and excited (because she is... well... awesome, as stated above). But then the reality of being photographed set in, and I get very squeamish about that.

But come day of the shoot, and all nerves were dissolved. Jennifer is so relaxed and grounded, she made the shoot effortless and oh so fun. And the seriously talented Kate Miss took such gorgeous photos. WOW! Talk about inspiring. And sweet! Kate is so sweet, she totally put me at ease and calmed me with her focus. The natural beauty, the amazing Beatrice worked her magic with my hair and make-up. And Jennifer's adorable intern, Jessica, was such a huge help and source of encouragement. They all had me laughing and shaking out any jitters I had. I can honestly say it was one of the most fun days! To be around so many insanely creative and beautiful ladies all coming together for Ermie... well... it was pretty special. And I feel so very honored to have been a part of it.
I want to say thank you to all of them, and a big thank you to Jennifer.

Some more details about the shoot.

The new collection is up and in the store! WHOO!
Check out Beatrice's hand made shoes, I got to wear the cutest pair of orange booties in one of the looks!
I was also feelin' pretty lucky to be adorned with Kathryn Bentley's beautiful Dream Collective jewelry
Cheryl Cambras made some cool and colorful bags for the collection
Vanessa Samp made all of the rad and magical necklaces
The shoot was held in my studio and all the works on paper were created for the Ermie collection. I am thinking of selling a limited edition of the folded paper wall sculptures. I will keep you posted on that.
