FULL MOON

Grain Moon
Saturday, August 29th, Pisces, 11:35 am PST

In the wise words of Mr. George Michael, "Because I gotta have faith, faith, faith..." This Moon and Venus in retrograde has been stirring up some messy stuff in us and around us. Venus has been in retrograde since the end of July and thank goodness we will come out of it on September 6th. This planet has been drudging up some of our deepest and most tender of relationship fears and wounds. This has been a time of really looking at who we are and what we value, particularly when it comes to relationships. Retrogrades are usually hard times, but like all hardships, they allow us to reap such rewards. For me, the key to surviving this process has been staying connected to the things I have faith in and remembering what I trust.

With this Full Moon in Pisces we have such support to do this. Pisces is the most sensitive, intuitive, compassionate, and spiritual sign of the zodiac. This energy helps us stay connected to a memory in us of wholeness and helps us to get to a deeper understanding within ourselves of what is happening in our lives. So, whatever the troubles are, whatever issue that's coming up, Pisces helps us to trust and grounds us in our faith. This has been my practice; whenever an insecurity surfaces, doubt arises, confusion sets in, old pain is triggered... I pause and connect to the things I know in my soul to be true. It's that place of inner knowing that is under all of our own wounds and shadows. Those won't go away, but they won't be our come from. We are straddling a place of trusting what we know and having faith in something bigger that is not yet known.

The thing I love about faith is that it's directly related to the unknown. Faith isn't about what we know or can see, it's not about what we are certain about, or can prove, or even define. It's what we have to reach for when we are in the unknown. To actually have faith means that we have to let go of everything.

NEW MOON

Green Corn Moon
Friday, August 14th, Leo, 7:53 am PST

Fiery, magnetic, vibrant, loving, courageous, creative LEO! Leo is always a fun sign to be under the influence of. Leo is my North Node in my natal chart. Your North Node points to the kind of experiences you must work on to create balance, growth, and fulfilment in this life (the South Node is the opposing sign and is the wisdom and experience that you have entered in with. You can find your North Nodes here). So, I think a lot about Leo energy. My mum was a Leo, and now that I know her as a spirit and feel her around me I feel she is helping to give me the gift of allowing this energy into my life more and more.

Not only with this Moon, but also to no coincidence in my life, it is a time all about the heart. Leo is the ruler of the heart. Think about the Lion in The Wizard of Oz, cowardly and in search of a heart. He is so fearful and afraid without it. The heart is the missing piece to how we access our inner bravery. By now we know that a part of bravery is fear. Without that fear the act of bravery can not exist. They must sit side by side, we must acknowledge both. It's when we are moving through something not just despite our own fears, but including it as a truth that we have the opportunity to be brave. And it's the inclusion of the heart that allows us to summon our inner courageous Lion! It's the fire that propels us towards something. It's when we connect to the fierce love we have for ourselves and for others that allow us to create monumental acts of bravery in our lives.

It takes courage to love and to allow yourself to be loved by someone.

We are in a time where Leo brings forth the archetype of the Queen. Her love is fierce, it is anchored deep in the heart, and it has honor and integrity. She is committed to herself, and to the desires of her own heart. This love can cut through old wounds and break patterns, it is clear in its direction and purpose. She understand in her feminine energy that the power to receive love is equal to the power of giving love.

Spend these next few days, these next few weeks, using this energy to help you express your heart. It is a time not just of feeling but also expression. Leos want to be seen! Let your inner Lion or Lioness roar, and allow yourself to align with your own inner wisdom and knowingness that comes from the heart.

Don't forget to make your New Moon Wishes! You can read about how to do that here

ps - I also recommend this... life changer and it's in alignment with this Moon!

measuring the soul

Psychometry (from Greek: ψυχή, psukhē, "spirit, soul" and μέτρον, metron, "measure"), also known as token-object reading, or psychoscopy, is a form of extra-sensory perception characterized by the claimed ability to make relevant associations from an object of unknown history by making physical contact with that object. Supporters assert that an object may have an energy field that transfers knowledge regarding that object's history.

Joseph Rodes Buchanan coined the word "psychometry" (measuring the soul) in 1842. Buchanan came up with the idea that all things give off an emanation.

The Past is entombed in the Present! The world is its own enduring monument; and that which is true of its physical, is likewise true of its mental career. The discoveries of Psychometry will enable us to explore the history of man, as those of geology enable us to explore the history of the earth. There are mental fossils for psychologists as well as mineral fossils for the geologists; and I believe that hereafter the psychologist and the geologist will go hand in hand — the one portraying the earth, its animals and its vegetation, while the other portrays the human beings who have roamed over its surface in the shadows, and the darkness of primeval barbarism! Aye, the mental telescope is now discovered which may pierce the depths of the past and bring us in full view of the grand and tragic passages of ancient history!
